Federico Naveira and Inés Muzzopappa
Rising tango stars
Federico Naveira was raised among the highest
qualified dancers and teachers of Argentine tango, what made
him one of the top exponents of the Argentine tango youth in
Argentina and the rest of the world.
He started dancing argentine
tango at the age of four, and he trained extensively in ballet
and modern dances, as well as acting and music. The combination
of these skills and knowledge gave him a solid foundation,
as well as understanding of dance. At the age of 10—together
with his sister Ariadna Naveira—he started to assist
at the classes “Tango with Children” organized
by his mother and dance instructor Olga Besio. This opportunity
gave him a rich experience and prepared him as dance instructor.
At
the age of 13, Federico joined a group of dance instructors
and since then he has never stopped dancing and teaching. Among
the many events he was part of, we find the most important
to include “Tangomagia” in Amsterdam, the C.I.T.A
(International Congress of Argentine Tango), the Pulpo’s
week, the International Argentine Tango Festival in La Plata,
and the Tango Festivals organized by the City of Buenos Aires.
Also
his work as dance instructor at Tango Brujo school, “Tango
with Children” with Olga Besio, and his performances
in many of the theaters and socials “milongas” in
the city of Buenos Aires. In 2007, Federico performed with
Carolina del Rivero, Mariela Sametband and the star of “Tango
Argentino” Milena Plebs, experience from which he gained
a deeper understanding of the tango dance.
In 2008, together
with other young instructors and dancers, Federico has founded “Postango” dance
studio, a platform that give him a new advantage point in his
career this time as organizer and director. Currently, Federico
and his dance partner, Ines Muzzopappa, travel around the world
teaching and performing in many tango festivals and workshops,
achieving recognition as the leader for the new generation
of tango dance around the globe.
The charm and
natural beauty of her movements, together with her great physical
and intellectual abilities, have made Ines Muzzopappa one of
the most promising dancers of argentine tango. Her learning
process has been natural and spontaneous since her fourteenth
birthday, the time in which she was introduced to the tango
masters of “Club Sunderland” in Villa Urquiza,
Buenos Aires.
Among other art forms, Ines has studied ballet,
singing and music, tools that gave her a solid artistic foundation
and a deep understanding of dance. In 2007, Ines earned first
place in the category Tango Salon at the Fifth Argentine Tango
World Championship in Buenos Aires. This achievement has enabled
Ines to develop her teaching skills as she started to work
in different national and international dance festivals (such
as the First Tango Festival in Comodoro Rivadavia, Pulpo’s
Tango Week and the tango festivals organized by the city of
Buenos Aires), as well as in the most recognized dance schools
in Argentina (“La Esquina” dance studio, “Carlos
Copello” dance studio and “Escuela Argentina de
Tango”).
From her beginnings, Ines has been invited
to perform in all of the milongas in Buenos Aires, together
with her dance partners Alejandro Hermida, Bruno Tombari, “Flaco” Dany
and Dante, which has made her a confident and solid dance performer.
In
2008, together with other young instructors and dancers, Ines
founded Postango dance studio, a platform that gives her a
new advantage point in her career, this time as organizer and
director. Currently Ines and her dance partner, Federico Naveira,
travel around the world teaching and performing in many tango
festivals and workshops, developing their career and living
a dream made true.
